About Us
Prout Boiler, Heating & Welding, Inc. is a 3rd generation, family owned, mechanical contracting company founded in 1945 by E.C. Prout (Cort, Sr.). Cort, Sr. was a boilermaker by trade, and started the company to service and repair boilers in the homes of Youngstown’s Northside and many local churches.
Commercial Heating and Cooling Systems
In 1948, the company expanded operations with Carl Foster starting an on-site machine shop. Prout Boiler again expanded in 1949 into commercial heating and cooling systems and became signatory to Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 87. In 1952, the company hired Andrew Black, a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Youngstown College. Andy helped build Prout Boiler’s reputation as a leading boiler repair and installation company in Northeast Ohio. In 1962, W. Cortland Prout (Cort) came on board while attending Youngstown College. He graduated in 1966 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and became an integral part of the growth of the company and started the Plumbing Department in 1968.
Emphasis to Always Perform Quality Work
In 1991, Wesley C. Prout graduated from The Ohio State University with a Mechanical Engineering degree and became the 3rd generation to work full time for the family business. Cort ran the business until his untimely death in 1994. Wesley took over the business at that time and is currently the President of the company with support from Richard J. Dalleske, Vice President and Donald Raybuck, Corporation Secretary and Safety Director. Throughout the years, Prout Boiler’s main emphasis is to always perform quality work, no matter the cost, and we have always been blessed with many great customers and employees.
